This newly created role at a leading international law firm offers incredible flexibility and autonomy for an experienced BDM or Recruitment Manager who has experience in the legal sector. ABOUT THE CLIENT With a strong brand overseas, this leading international law firm are now investing heavily in their Australian business to improve brand awareness and increase market share/revenue in this key growth area of the firm. ABOUT THE ROLE This newly created role (to be based in either Melbourne or Sydney) will support business development and marketing activities across Australia to drive increased sales of profitable, strategically-aligned work to the firm. Reporting to the Managing Director, key responsibilities include: developing and implementing BD plans in line with the firm’s strategy/objectives focussing on increasing brand awareness, developing new client relationships and increasing revenue; supporting all aspects of BD including targeting, developing thought leadership campaigns, event and conference management, and initiation of new client contact and development; provide day-to-day support to leadership team on the wide range of BD initiatives required to grow the business; work with the wider BD team including (including bids, events, PR, etc) to align BD activity and support specific opportunities for the firm; collaborate with colleagues to implement growth and development plans on an international scale (with a particular emphasis on APAC markets); play both a lead advisory and ‘hands-on’ role in coordinating and shaping proposals and credential statements, as well as leading and advising on designated “must win” pursuits/opportunities; and manage the firm’s profile in Australia by ensuring effective use of all communication channels including managing PR support. ABOUT YOU Degree qualified (in law, business or commerce), you will have extensive experience in either BD or recruitment in a professional services firm (ideally law). Commercially astute, you will have a strong track record in growing existing and new business. You will have proven ability to advise and influence senior stakeholders; and be able to nurture relationships with both external and internal stakeholders by understanding (and adapting to) the needs of both clients and colleagues. You must have strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and demonstrate resilience and common sense, with the ability to manage change and deal with uncertainty.
