We have a long and successful partnership with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and we are seeking a Asset and Scheduling Coordinator within our Defence Base Services team in the Darwin locality. Working within the Estate Upkeep facilities maintenance service line you will be reporting into the Regional Asset Manager delivering multiple short term projects in a fast paced and challenging environment. The primary focus of this role is to develop, monitor and review the life plans of all assets that are maintained by Broadspectrum throughout the life of the Defence Contract. The asset life plans need to ensure statutory and contact compliance, reduce asset failure risk, demonstrate regional specific requirements and drive a positive commercial outcome via sound understanding of RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) principle engineering and planning. Primary Responsibilities Asset Management Sponsor and development of a continuous improvement plan on asset life plans for all maintainable assets in the Defence contract. Ensure asset contribution and criticalities are defined for all assets IAW ADF Service Level Partnering Agreements. Align maintenance scheduling to support customer usage and upkeep cycles, and seasonal considerations. Maintain client Asset Registers, Sponsor targeted asset validation and due diligence activities, including data capture upload where required. Monitor and continually improve reliability through PM strategy and effective task completion rates. Liaise closely with the Regional Technical Officers, and Estate Appraisal Data and Planning Coordinators to ensure plans adhere with the applicable legislation, standards, industry best practice, operational tempo and lifecycle stage of the asset. Conduct targeted time in motion studies on asset maintenance activities for the purposes of validating resource planning. Conduct and sponsor a continuous improvement targeted program in the field to validate maintenance task list. Ensure life plans are accurate to contractual deliverables. Identify opportunities for condition based monitoring vs time based monitoring of assets through the introduction of automation and sensing supervisory systems. Participate and where required lead root cause analysis investigations to drive asset planning and scheduling improvement activities. Stakeholder Managemen t Ensure reporting system meets requirements of all Key Stakeholders. Provide accurate weekly and monthly planning reports as requested. Build relationships with key industry support partners to establish feedback loops on maintenance planning and scheduling effectiveness. Financial Management Analyse costs by asset for; Life Plan improvement, Design out Opportunity or Capital Replacement. Prepare annual planned maintenance Zero Base and produce annual resource capacity model. Define annual cost initiatives via scheduling continuous improvement. Develop detailed Life Plans that accurately defines cost elements and allows monthly, annual and long term maintenance activity forecasting. Identify opportunities for bundling and packaging of maintenance tasks to drive efficiency and cost reduction. Identify opportunities where assets are being over maintained, in order to reduce asset running costs. Ensure activity smoothing is planned to allow effective scheduling and forecasting. Ensure resource details are accurately managed in SAP. Management Collaboration : Actively participate in People and Culture performance processes. Proactively support management to improve staff engagement levels. Establish and manage effective communication processes. Define, designate and document quality and safety responsibilities. Exercise basic communication and interpersonal skills. Ensure all associated Defence / Broadspectrum document control and data entry associated with work packets is completed. Identify and escalate issues beyond control which may impact on either Defence or Broadspectrum. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Possess formal engineering tertiary or diploma qualifications. Demonstrated at least two years’ experience in asset engineering within a complex maintenance environment, including working with trade staff, and external industry providers. History working within a reliability engineering or systems engineering related role would be highly advantageous. Demonstrated experience in managing customer service and customer expectations. Experience in the use of maintenance management systems -competencies and high aptitude in the use of similar computer IT application such as SAP, Primavera, Microsoft Project, Excel etc. Demonstrated history of developing and leading an improvement plan(s) with respect to asset management. Sound understanding of work, health and safety and security awareness and understanding to ensure compliance to legislative requirements Possess a current open driver’s licence for class C (manual) vehicles. Able to work effectively with people from diverse national, cultural, linguistic and religious/spiritual backgrounds and to deal with sensitive issues in a manner that is respectful of people’s individual dignity, cultural values and religious beliefs. Required to liaise with clients/staff and respond to specific deadlines. An ability to interact effectively with technical staff, subcontractors, senior military officers and Client representatives. This role may require a Defence Security Clearance and therefore the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen. Authority may not be delegated to other Contract staff within their area of responsibility without reference to the Contract Manager.
