Due to an increase in workload we are looking for an Assessor to join our in-house Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Broadspectrum Training Services. This fixed-term contract position will work with technical experts to provide assessor support across nationally recognised and business specific competencies. You will coordinate and facilitate our Online and RPL Oil and Gas Drilling and Well-Servicing programs spanning from Cert II to Diploma. You will work closely with qualification candidates to support and guide them through the evidence collection process for assessment. This is an opportunity to further develop your experience in a resources industry training environment. You will be experienced at assessing a range of evidence types and help our qualification candidates to identify how their skills and knowledge meet the competency requirements. You are an engaging conversationalist with an enquiring mind who enjoys making the assessment process approachable for our staff. You are known for building rapport easily and working with a diverse range of blue-collar staff. You will apply your in-depth knowledge of assessment and competency evidence requirements to ensure integrity of the assessment process. You have experience using an online Learning Management System and are systematic and thorough in your approach. The qualifications we deliver support Broadspectrum’s operations including subsidiary Easternwell. Easternwell is Australia’s leading drilling, well-servicing and camp management specialist operating in the resources sector. The role is based at our Toowoomba QLD training facility Mon-Fri, reporting to the Training Manager. Some travel to field training sites will be required from time to time. Responsibilities of the position would include but not be limited to the following: Facilitating Assessment online, via RPL and through practical observation and conversation, partnering with a technical expert. Coordinating, supporting and guiding assessment candidates through the process. Grading assessment work against requirements. Managing the assessment processes and learner relationship using the online LMS. Updating assessment structure and documentation to simplify the process for candidates. Implementing continuous improvements. Participating in the RTOs Quality Management Plan. Key Technical Skills and Qualifications A current Cert IV Training and Assessment minimum. Higher level educational qualifications highly regarded. Experience facilitating assessment using an online LMS. Ideally you will have competencies and experience from an industrial or trade background and an emphasis on Work Health and Safety in complex operational environments. Recent and relevant experience related to competency-based training and assessment and National Training Packages. A background in resources and mining, transport, defence, logistics or other similar industries is highly desirable. You understand how to hold a competency conversation to collect evidence, making the process feel natural for candidates whilst upholding assessment integrity. You are meticulous in your planning and facilitation of assessment to ensure the product we deliver puts the learner at the centre of the experience.
