Here’s where you come in…

The Transaction Tax team has responsibility within the Investments Department with respect taxation rules and principles in order to maximize retirement outcomes for our members by ensuring that investment decisions are made on a tax informed basis.

Reporting to the Transaction Tax Manager, you will form part of the deal team for each new investment, you’ll collaborate with colleagues in the Investments Legal team to ensure transaction documentation achieves the intended tax outcomes of the structure identified and appropriately mitigates tax risk of the Fund. You will assist with the development of strategic initiatives for the investments department and maintaining relations with the Fund’s advisors, peers and with relevant government officials.

Stakeholders include the Funds Property and Infrastructure teams, the broader Commercial team and Group Tax.

You’ll need…

To be successful in this role you will require 7+ years’ experience with the structuring of domestic and international property and infrastructure investments and/or corporate M&A transactions within either a professional services, superannuation or funds management.

We are looking for someone who has advanced analytical skills and ability to persist with tasks that require a high attention to detail, has sound judgment and strong ability to present arguments in written and verbal form.

You will hold tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting disciplines or Tax Law.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter and comfortable working in a small team where direct involvement in tasks is required.
