Broadspectrum have a long and successful partnership with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and are regularly expanding due to the renewal and extension of the Base Services contract to manage ADF facilities on a national level.
About the Role
Reporting to the Regional Asset Manager, the Technical Officer will act as the Fire Subject Matter Expert across our Victorian and Tasmanian defence sites. In this role you will provide technical oversight and support to operations primarily for fire assets and systems whilst maintaining technical compliance with all relevant Australian and Defence standards and codes.

  • Sponsor and lead the Asset Management function of the Fire Asset portfolio within the Region.
  • Drive the Fire planned maintenance and resource plan strategy.
  • Conduct periodic review of Fire Maintenance plans and activities to ensure compliance with the SDT, and legislative Standards.
  • Conduct Asset Appraisals and submit recommendations.
  • Provide Fire SME Technical support within the Region.
  • Audit contract or technical document quality as required from Project Support Services.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant formal qualification (Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Trade Certificate) in Fire Engineering or equivalency in field and industry related discipline.
  • Demonstrated management and organisational skills. 
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level. 
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team. 
  • Demonstrated written technical communication and IT skills. 
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.

Some intrastate travel will also be required in this role on an ad-hoc basis.
