The Role

Due to continued growth, Trace are currently looking to engage a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our P&I team in Darwin. This 6-month fixed term role will see you based local to Darwin working Monday to Friday.

This position provides leadership, direction and support for preparation and planning of maintenance activities through to implementation of minor Brownfield & maintenance activities on recently commissioned areas of the INPEX Ichthys onshore LNG processing facility.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide engineering and technical advice throughout all stages of multi discipline maintenance works
  • Working with client to define and understand scope
  • Assist with the management and execution of all works
  • Manage, develop and monitor schedules & budgets 
  • Develop and prepare project documentation and work packs

Skills & Requirements

  • Degree level qualification in a mechanical engineering
  • Experience working in brownfields environments in oil & gas (preferred)
  • An ability to liaise at all levels with the Client and Subcontractors
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team
  • Excellent written communication and IT skills (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
