Job Description

Broadspectrum has a long successful relationship with the Australian Defence Force. Our current long-term contract is to deliver Estate Maintenance and Operations Services, Hospitality and Catering, Fire and Refuelling, Retail Stores and Petrol’s, Oils and Lubricants across the nation.


Our Rescue & Fire Fighting (RFF) services currently extend from stations in WA, SA, VIC, NSW and QLD. Due to the evolving nature of this contract, we are currently employing a Firefighter in our Fire and Rescue operations at Defence Base Kapooka NSW.


The successful Firefighter will respond to incidents as required and perform duties as directed by the Station Officer and Leading Firefighter.


All positions will require the successful applicants to work a 10/14 Roster:

Day Shift 08:00-18:00 Night Shift 18:00-08:00


Skills and Experience:

You must supply evidence of the following qualifications with your application: (Only complete applications will be assessed). The following minimum qualifications are required:


PUA20613 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting & Emergency Operations)

Note: Broadspectrum require specific units from within the Certificate levels and incorporate the following units of competency.

  • PUALAW001B    Protect and Preserve Incident Scene
  • HLTAID003         Provide first aid
  • PUAFIR309B       Operate Pumps
  • PUAVEH001B     Drive Vehicles under operational conditions
  • PUAOHS002B    Maintain Safety at an Incident
  • Hold a current HR Drivers’ licence

Other requirements:

  • A proven track record for performance and professionalism within the fire industry
  • A strong focus on team orientation
  • You must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Department of Defence Security Clearance.
