The company has a longstanding partnership with the Australian Defence Force are now seeking a qualified Gym Attendant and Lifeguard to work in a combined role over at the Puckapunyal military base. This opportunity offers a dynamic working environment on our longstanding Defence Base Services contract.  


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Supervision of the gym area and controlling access of personnel
  • Providing support for sporting activities and associated administration
  • Manage and account for all equipment, conducting routine inspections
  • Ensure facilities are safe, clean and hygienic for use
  • General pool management and administration in regards to quality and legislation
  • Overseeing Emergency Action Plan
  • Checking/using the pool rescue equipment
  • Supervising bathers, ensuring they adopt safe water entry and pool area practices
  • Ensure and emphasise that proper supervision is maintained over children


  • Certificate III in Health and Fitness (Gym Instructor) or Certificate IV (Personal Trainer)
  • Valid Lifeguard Certificate
  • Previous experience as both a gym attendant AND lifeguard are highly desirable
  • Competent level of computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Able to provide excellent customer service
  • Able to work well both within a team and on an individual basis

The incumbent to this role must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1 (Secret) and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol test. As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen
