The Role

We are seeking a full time environmental project officer in our Victorian office to deliver a range of environmental and land management projects. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual with a background in ecology or natural resources with an interest in Geographic Information Systems. This is a mid-level role and we are seeking for a motivated and passionate individual looking to grown their experience in environmental project delivery and management. We offer a flexible working arrangements with a team orientated working environment.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and deliver a range of environmental and land projects including field work, reporting and administration
  • Field work including native vegetation, weed and feral animal surveys and control programs across Victoria/Tasmania
  • Assist with GIS requirements of the business and projects including data administration, analysis and map production
  • Assist in writing proposal as required

Essential criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resources or a related field
  • Experience or qualifications utilising GIS systems
  • Demonstrated experience in indigenous flora identification and weeds within Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
  • Project management skills with an ability to manage multiple and competing tasks
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to direct contractors, consultants and staff as part of project delivery
  • Drivers licence and willingness to travel
  • Australian residency

Desirable criteria

  • Consulting experience
  • 4WD experience and/or training
  • Fauna surveying experience
