As part of the Netflow Consortium we will undertake eight high-priority road upgrades, road widenings, intersection upgrades, almost 30 kilometres of duplicated road, and more than 260 kilometres of road rehabilitation and maintenance across Melbourne’s west.

The $1.8 billion project is the first of its kind and the largest single investment in arterial roads in Australia to date. The Public Private Partnership runs for more than 20 years. About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join our Amey Broadspectrum joint venture team, reporting to the Network Delivery Hub Manager. You will play a key role in planning and programming of construction works for a major roads project. The role will programme best practice to maximise value and minimise risk and cost with due regards to client relationship management as well as ensuring that both internal and external programming and reporting requirements are delivered and control standards are met.

Role responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing detailed construction programmes
  • Establishing construction methodologies and plans
  • Monitoring project progress against programmes and developing reports
  • Undertaking analysis of programmes against contractual requirements including assessing delay claims
  • Planning management through programme assessments, project work plans, and reporting in conjunction with other team members
  • Creating resource project timelines for deliverables and assisting team members to meet programme deliverables
  • Developing planning processes as part of contract start up to ensure best practice and delivery of high quality programmes on time
  • Assisting the Business Manager in budget management
  • Initiating performance measurement metrics including Earned Value and other associated planning controls
  • Building and maintaining monthly client reports
  • Developing and improving working practices and seeking innovative solutions.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience;

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role (10 years is desirable)
  • Proficient in the use of enterprise planning tools. Experience of Primavera P6 software applications and P6/database programming is desirable
  • Civil construction experience (rehabilitation of pavements, bridges and other minor structures)
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and meticulous approach
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and be able to manage stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to achieve tight deadlines with high degrees of quality and understanding
  • Ability to identify project safety risks / hazards
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and adapt to client requirements.
