A bit about the department…
This position sits within Mid Risk Portfolios. Mid Risk incorporates unlisted real asset portfolios, including High Yield Credit, Infrastructure, Property and RAAD. RAAD targets real assets the Fund has asset class expertise in, being Infrastructure and Property, and within subordinated or mezzanine positions in the capital structure. Due to the size and scale of the Fund, RAAD is predominantly a global strategy targeting geographies in North America and Western Europe.
Here’s where you come in…
Reporting to the Senior Investment Manager, RAAD you will provide analytical support to fulfil the function of credit assessment, investment management and portfolio management of direct credit investment opportunities.
You will be responsible for the due diligence and credit assessment of prospective credit investments. You will build and maintain financial models, determine internal credit ratings for individual investments, prepare credit papers with recommendations, and review term sheets and legal documentation. You will conduct ongoing periodic reviews of the performance of individual loans and sectors, and manage the valuation process with external valuers for the valuation of individual loans. You will also assist in the construction and maintenance of the RAAD portfolio to optimise investment returns for AustralianSuper members, and research potential new markets for new opportunities.
Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Finance or a related discipline. Significant experience in fundamental credit assessment in a banking, finance or a credit funds management role. Meaningful exposure within real estate or property lending, with an ability to conduct independent research to support due diligence. You will have strong quantitative financial modelling skills and significant experience with undertaking analysis of information and drawing conclusions. Proven experience in infrastructure and/or project finance is desirable, however not mandatory.
