This Regulatory Compliance position has been created within the Investments Department’s compliance team in response to increasing regulatory demands, both locally and internationally. The role will monitor and advise on the implementation of all regulatory requirements as it pertains to Investment Management functions (such as MiFID, EMIR, ASIC Market Integrity Rules, Global FX Conduct rules). This role will also be responsible for monitoring and interpreting regulatory developments of regulators such as ASIC, APRA, and other relevant International regulators (eg FCA, SEC).
You will be required to advise the business on all relevant regulatory updates, control and compliance issues and provide practical solutions to resolve and implement them. You will be accountable for regulatory working groups, bringing in appropriate business partners to ensure the smooth transition of new regulations from project stage to BAU
The role will also include regular monitoring on BAU business activities within Investments which have regulatory components, such as OTC reporting, trading analysis, best execution, and market surveillance. You will also need to report and present to relevant oversight committees as required.
This role will give you the ability to build strong industry relationships and participate in industry forums to ensure AustralianSuper is kept abreast of best practice.
Extensive relevant regulatory compliance experience, preferably within a funds management compliance background. Bachelor of Commerce, Business or Finance, or Legal degree. Regulatory compliance with experience in dealing with ASIC and/or oversees regulators. You will have highly developed interpersonal skills and communication skills with an ability to engage and partner with internal stakeholders. You will display initiative, and demonstrate sound judgement and decision-making skills. You have a willingness to learn, well-developed analytical skills, organisational skills and a high attention to detail.
