About the role

In this role you will be responsible for managing, overseeing, implementing and supervising best practice maintenance (including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and ITS equipment) to meet the required contractual standards and performance parameters. The successful candidate will coordinate and direct all works and personnel 24/7 and be required to oversee and supervise all aspects of the roles undertaken by their team members.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and oversee maintenance and repair of Toowoomba Second Range Crossing in accordance with Maintenance Standards and best industry practice including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and ITS equipment
  • Manage defects and defect correction through the defects liability period
  • Program scheduled maintenance and repair activities so as to minimise traffic disruption
  • Manage budget with the aim of optimising resources and minimising costs
  • Manage subcontractor resources to ensure that response times in relation to damaged structures or facilities or faulty infrastructure equipment including electrical and electronic equipment are in accordance with Project Deed
  • Work with the Business Improvement Manager to manage subcontractors from contractual viewpoint
  • Work with the Network Optimisation Manager to manage work priorities and scheduling
  • Manage the planning of maintenance tasks and oversee supervision of maintenance sub-contractors
  • Deliver reports relating to TSRC maintenance and repair as required
  • Develop, implement and monitor maintenance performance indicators so as to progressively improve efficiency while maintaining level of service
  • Plan, manage and report on major repair, modification and replacement activities where required
  • Monitor condition of assets using the Asset Management System and other reporting tools as required
  • Conduct periodic reviews of the Maintenance Plan and associated Maintenance Standards & Procedures to ensure they remain fit for purpose
  • Provision of training needs for Maintenance Team members and other Broadspectrum employees as necessary
  • Operate inside of and participate in external certifications audits as required
  • Provide incident response services within contractual guidelines

During the pre-operations and operations and maintenance stage, the incumbent is expected to assist in the following activities:

  • Preparation of manuals
  • Development / refinement of maintenance schedules
  • Packaging of specialist maintenance tasks for tender
  • Assist with Asset Management System database input
  • Recruitment of new team


Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualification and demonstrated experience in relevant field
  • Civil, Electrical and Mechanical maintenance experience
  • ITS maintenance experience desirable
  • A leader capable of managing a team
  • Advanced Computer Skills
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Ability to time manage, set priorities and work to strict deadlines
  • SAP experience desirable
  • Advanced communication skills with an ability to relate and modify communication style for stakeholders with diverse requirements and differing levels of required understanding
  • Traffic Management experience preferred
