Job Description

ICC Sydney is a $1.5 billion development that has transformed the Darling Harbour precinct. The project delivered 35,000sqm of internal exhibition space, the largest commercial kitchen in the southern hemisphere, Australia’s largest ballroom, an open-air event deck, and an 8000 seat entertainment theatre.

We are currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller to lead the ICC Sydney finance team. This is a key role in driving results through the effective management of financial operations including; reporting, business planning, analysis, legal, policies and procedures, payroll management, risk management and administration.

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Administration, this role is fast-paced and challenging, requiring an individual who can work with a high degree of autonomy whilst also acting as a business partner; providing effective support to ICC Sydney Directors by demonstrating a solid understanding of the month’s results, and the future strategy of the business.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor qualification in accounting or business discipline
  • CA and/or CPA qualification
  • Proven ability to manage, train, develop and lead large teams of finance team members
  • Previous knowledge of hospitality, events or hotel industry accounting practices
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, eg. payroll, tax and compliance.
  • Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders
