Job Description

The Aroona Alliance is a partnership between the Water Corporation, Suez and Broadspectrum working as one team to deliver operations, maintenance and asset management of the Perth metropolitan water and wastewater production and treatment assets. Aroona’s vision is to drive operational performance and improve the water and wastewater services through its service objectives of Zero Harm, Value for Money, People Capability, Asset Management, Information Management and Water/ Wastewater compliance.

The Role:

The Electrical /Instrument Technician - Projects reports to the Supervisor - Project Coordination and forms a part of the Projects Services group within the Aroona Alliance. Duties will include but are not limited to installation, repairs and enhancement to the reliability of Electrical / Instrument assets within the Water & Wastewater Industry.

  • Experience with Process Industry Isolation & tagging procedures
  • Experience in diagnostic work within a process industry environment 
  • Experience in Commercial & Industrial electrical installations
  • Ability to use effective fault finding/diagnosis skills relative to the process industry
  • Ability to install machinery and equipment to acceptable engineering standards
  • Knowledge and be up to date with the Electrical Australian Standards and acts
  • Ability to complete tasks autonomously 
  • Ability to prioritise works across a number of key projects
  • Ability to work as member of a team
  • Experience with control valves
  • Experience with on line process systems
  • Experience in Chemical handling in relation to Process Industry 
  • Experience in minor estimating  
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Experience and proficiency in High Voltage Switching 
  • Maintain where possible a clean & tidy appearance.


  • INLEC Dual trade certificate or Electrician with Instrumentation certificate
  • A Grade WA Electrical License
  • Endorsed  Electrical Mechanic
  • Current National C class driver’s license
  • Minimum 5 Years trades experience
  • First aid
  • Elevated work platform
  • Confined space certificate  SCBA  - 2 day Nationally accredited course 
  • Working at heights
