The Role:

We are seeking a full time environmental project officer in our Darwin office to assist deliver a range of environmental and land management projects. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual with a background in ecology or natural resources with an interest in Geographic Information Systems. This is a mid-senior level role and we are seeking for a motivated and passionate individual to manage environmental projects for our clients.  

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will coordinate & deliver a range of environmental & land projects including field work, reporting and administration. Field work including native vegetation, weed and feral animal surveys and control programs across Northern Territory and Western Australia

Assist with GIS requirements of the projects including data administration, analysis and map production and be expected to assist in writing proposals as required.

Essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years previous work experience
  • Experience or qualifications utilising GIS systems
  • Demonstrated experience in indigenous flora identification and weeds within Northern Territory.
  • Project management skills with an ability to manage multiple and competing tasks
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to direct contractors, consultants and staff as part of project delivery
  • Drivers licence and willingness to travel

Along with the above, it would be desirable to hold:

  • Consulting experience
  • 4WD experience and/or training
  • Fauna surveying experience
