The Role
Broadspectrum are currently looking to engage an experienced Workers Compensation Case Manager to determine liability, process and manage claims in an effective manner in accordance with the respective State Workers' Compensation Act. The purpose of this role is to manage the implementation of formulated Claims & Injury Management and Return to Work strategies and/or processes to achieve targeted claim costs reductions and increase claim closure. This position will see you in a permanent part-time role based in Melbourne.  
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Determination of claims liability in a timely manner.
  • Manage all aspects of Workers Compensation claims from inception to finalisation.
  • Arrange independent medical  examinations, requesting treater reports, coordinating necessary treatment for injured workers
  • Liaising with injured workers, treating practitioners and external stakeholders regularly
  • Processing of invoices/payroll 
  • Providing a cost effective, efficient, professional and customer focused service
  • Liaise with all relevant parties as required in the claims management process.
  • Managing daily workflow to maintain service standards
  • Ensure claim and customer concerns are resolved in an efficient and timely manner. 
  • Implement best practice Claims & Injury Management to achieve claim cost reduction and greater return to work outcomes.
  • Filing of correspondence in workers compensation files on daily basis

Skills and Experience

  • Sound knowledge of the relevant State Workers Compensation Act. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • An understanding and commitment to injury management principles and the RTW process. 
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Understanding of injury prevention principles.
  • Understanding and Commitment to HSE / OH&S principles.
  • Some travel and/or long distance driving maybe required
