The Role 
We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Manager to join our team on our Telstra contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of project managers and support staff, as well as planning, co-ordinating and assisting in the management of the Capital Works Program and ensuring that regional and national priorities are met. This is a full-time, permanent role based in the Melbourne Head Office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Supervise multi-disciplinary works and personnel
  • Contribute to the development of Major Works/Project plans
  • Develop targets & measure improvements
  • Manage risk of activities within the team
  • Monitor works and initiate alternative courses of action when appropriate to ensure major objectives and client/customer requirements are met
  • Maintain strong relationships with all key working partners to build and maintain a bonded capital works team.

Skills & experience we are looking for:

  • Relevant Trade or Engineering Qualification – e.g. construction, building installation or maintenance or similar
  • Preference for holder of Builders Licence
  • Significant experience in construction, building maintenance modification or related industries
  • Project Co-ordination, Project Management or equivalent experience
  • Effective people management skills
  • Ability to manage budget and administration for capital work projects
