Job Description

The Company:

BR&I are a national mechanical services entity who work in the Hydrocarbon and Heavy Industrial Sectors around Australia.  Due to project flow, BR&I are looking for skilled, safety conscious and passionate trades to support the delivery of our Defence Fuel Installation Maintenance contract in the Northern Territory.

The Role:

You’ll be assisting BR&I deliver within the Estate Management (EMOS) contract for the Department of Defence.  As such, we’re recruiting for a experienced & qualified Dual Trade (Mech/Elect) to perform technical and maintenance work on Defence Fuel Installation services which will include tasks such as inspections, preventative maintenance, general repairs and along with any planned work.

In addition you may be required to:

  • Execute preventative and corrective maintenance tasks as well as provide technical assistance as required
  • Work with other maintenance personnel to maintain DFI equipment to agreed schedules, procedures and standard
  • Effectively diagnose problems and provide technical support as required for problem solving maintenance issues within the mechanical discipline
  • Carry out work and inspections of work in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements and the relevant codes and industry standards
  • Assist the Mechanical Supervisor with job timing, work scheduling, work instructions and job plans as well as make recommendations to the Mechanical Supervisor in relation to work practices, which could improve quality, increase productivity and reduce costs

Requirements

  • NT Electrical License / Mechanical Trade
  • Certificate 4 Electrical Instrumentation
  • Certificate 3 Hazardous Areas
  • Low Voltage Rescue
  • Working at Heights
  • Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
  • Current First Aid certificate & CPR
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical including D&A
  • Instrumentation Qualifications & High Risk Licenses highly regarded

This is a family friendly position, working a 38hr week (Monday to Friday) paid on an hourly rate plus super.

In order to be successful in this role you must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance to the level of Secret. 

Please note: This is a local position and not a FIFO role.  You must be a local resident of Darwin or Katherine (and be willing to relocate of your own accord)
