The Role


We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive, experienced and collaborative Technical Writer in our proposals team.


Reporting to the Lead Technical Writer, you will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and proposal teams to clearly and persuasively communicate our solutions to clients. Your role will encompass researching, formulating and writing messaging and bid responses across all of the industries Broadspectrum serves.



Key responsibilities include:


  • Thoroughly understand the client’s required outcomes, our bid strategy and tender compliance requirements
  • Translate bid strategy into key messages and win themes
  • Independently develop written content and graphics
  • Collaboratively develop written content and graphics, including interviewing SMEs to obtain inputs and taking a leadership role where required to help proposal contributors build winning responses
  • Accept responsibility for delivering clear, persuasive, consistent and polished written responses
  • Identify areas to improve the outputs of self and others, including but not limited to participating in Reviews and implementing feedback from review processes.


To be successful in this role you will have at least five years of directly transferable experience, with experience in bid/proposal writing, commercial writing or grant writing. You will hold relevant tertiary qualification or comprehensive experience in communications, science or technology. You will be an expert user of MS Office and will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.


In the run up to tender deadlines, overtime is often required. Occasionally (1-2 times per year), this role might require extended interstate travel. You will be required to work flexible hours to complete the task.
