Job Description

 

 

Broadspectrum are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support the execution of our Water Cooling Tower project in Olympic Dam.

The role will oversee the maintenance and shutdown activities from well head to pipeline. This will include all ancillary and control room equipment, ensuring that all HSE, efficiency and Quality objectives are met and maintained on the QGC sites.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
  • Execute and support install, repair, maintain, test, technical advisory, modify, commission and fault find work scopes to your level of competency within the E&I discipline.
  • Complete tasks to the set standards and OEM guidelines.
  • Inspect, test, adjust and repair E&I equipment to satisfy appropriate governing standards.
  • Instrument tubing installation, connection to instrument and leak testing.
  • Carry out testing and commissioning of newly installed electrical equipment and systems including the preparation works for such activities.
  • Ensure compliance to Hazardous Area Electrical requirements.
  • Carry out electrical isolation and de-isolation works within your competencies and qualifications.
  • Communication of noted deviations to relevant BRS and Client Engineers.
  • Work closely with the Trade Assistants to ensure they are working to the level of their competency.
  • As directed train, mentor and support development of team members.
  • Work closely with the operations team to achieve project performance targets.

Key Experiences & Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years Oil & Gas experience in a similar position (Instrumentation Technicians C3 qualifications).
  • CERT 3 Electro technology
  • CERT 3 Instrument and Control
  • Current Provide CPR
  • Current Rescue from Live LV Panel Accreditation (LVR)
  • Training/experience/competence with maintenance of Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA)
  • Unrestricted Queensland Electrical Workers Licence
  • Power generation experience, ideally with gas turbines
  • Emergency Shut Down system and associated field device maintenance experience
  • Fire & Gas Detection system and field device maintenance experience
  • DCS & PLC exposure
  • Proven experience in the use of a CMMS
  • Understanding of Industry Standards
  • Ability to multi task together with significant hands on experience.       
  • Current drivers licence.
  • Current Construction White Card Certification
  • Ability to multi task together with significant hands on experience.       
  • Proven Quality Assurance knowledge
  • Proven Maintenance principles experience and application
  • Proven Experience in Permit to Work (PTW) procedures
  • Experience user of IT Systems
  • Good knowledge of HSE systems and procedures
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written skills
