Job Description

Our client is one of Melbourne's most established legal practices based in the CBD, with over 100 staff, they provide exceptional legal services to the commercial legal market. Our client is going from strength to strength and prides itself on its team culture and places great value on its people.

Our client is now seeking a self-motivated highly experienced Payroll Officer to join the firm. The role is responsible for taking ownership of the payroll function. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the Finance Manager and HR Manager you will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties;

  • End to End Payroll processing for 100 staff
  • Managing monthly payment runs
  • Calculation of PAYG, Payroll Tax, Workcover and Superannuation payments
  • Processing new starters, terminations and payroll adjustments
  • Interpreting awards
  • Providing accurate information in response to employee queries as directed by the HR Manager
  • Generating various reports
  • Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
  • Collecting, calculating, and entering data in order to maintain and update payroll information.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a similar Payroll Officer role along with the following attributes:

  • Strong proven payroll software experience with Sage Micropay Meridian (essential)
  • Ability to work independently and be a strong team player
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Highly Reliable
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
