Job Description



Thanks to a newly awarded contract to MTC-Broadspectrum by the Department of Corrective Services, Broadspectrum Training Services are now currently seeking candidates wishing to enhance their career as an ASSISTANT TRAINER & ASSESSOR, based initially at our offices in Parramatta, moving to the Parklea Correctional Centre in Western Sydney.

In this role you will be responsible for facilitating new-starter competency training and development activities in support of the new contract. The role is a temporary assignment 3-4 months in length to assist delivery of training to a bulk-intake of new industry starters, with an expectation that you will apply for a full-time operational role within the prison commencing on completion of training.

  • A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. (Diploma in Training and Assessment or relevant degree is highly regarded).
  • Industry experience, vocational currency and subject matter expertise for training delivery.
  • IT skills to support the development of training products and the maintenance of records
  • exceptional inter-personal and communication skills


Overall your ability to facilitate training in a professional and engaging manner, and mentor the next generation of prison officers are the key skills we require.

You must have Australian Work Rights and have the ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol test in order to be eligible for these positions
