Our Portfolio Construction team

The Portfolio Construction team helps members to achieve their best possible investment returns for retirement by delivering a suite of diversified Investment Options and managing these options within key constraints. This is achieved by setting the strategies for the various multi-asset class portfolios, managing the key budgets of performance, risk, cost and liquidity across the Investment Department, research on investment offerings to members, implementing and monitoring changes to the asset allocation of each Investment Option.

As the team continues to grow, we currently have a number of opportunities for people looking to continue their career in a multi-asset class environment, or for those working in a single asset class wanting to expand their horizons.

The areas we are focussing on include-

  • Diversified Portfolio Strategy (Pre-mixed and balanced option)
  • Responsible for driving the portfolio construction and strategy of the multi-asset class investment options. Key areas of focus include; research and developmentof new investment strategies and ideas, the sizing of active positions across the portfolios, the allocation of limited capacity and the consideration of portfolio construction constraints. Also, providing modelling, research, analysis and reporting to drive the portfolio construction process and help to integrate key investment decisions across the investment department.
  • Risk & Portfolio Construction
  • Responsible for undertaking comprehensive portfolio analysis and construction activities, researching and making recommendations on investment strategy, working alongside the asset class teams. Also help to drive the ongoing development of the Fund’s Investment Risk Framework, including investment risk limits, budgets, methodologies, and approaches..

Ideally, we are looking for people with strong multi-asset strategy experience, or the capability to learn, with a combination of well developed research and analysis skills, coupled with excellent communication and influencing abilities.

Qualifications and skills relating to quantitative modelling, financial and economic research or mathematics will be highly regarded.
