About the role:


The purpose of the Procurement Officer is to coordinate the procurement process for Parklea Correctional Centre, managing an efficient supply chain to ensure the sufficient supply of recurring goods are held in stock and delivered to users as required in a timely manner. This role will be accountable for providing procurement expertise and assisting in the planning, development, sourcing, logistics and management of procurement arrangements to maintain the smooth operations of Parklea Correctional Centre.

Skills & Experience: 


You will ideally be skilled in delivering positive outcomes and results in a complex correctional environment. You will be an excellent people person with strong interpersonal skills, personal values that show a recognition that people can change and an ability to embrace diversity and to have a relentless focus on delivery and doing the right thing. In addition, we will be looking for:


  • Previous experience in a similar role 
  • Competency using Microsoft Office Packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, systems and policy
  • Ability to analyse numerical and other complex information 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to liaise effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • High attention to detail, organisational skills and adept at working under strict timescales
  • Positive values that align with a belief that people can change and we can influence that
  • Demonstrate resilience in the face of adversity
