Together with our Alliance partner SA Water, Allwater is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater networks and associated assets throughout the Adelaide metropolitan area.

  • Full-time, fixed term contract (Up to July 2021)

We are currently seeking a suitably experienced candidate to fulfil the role of Senior Payroll Administrator to work in our Finance and Administration team based in our CBD Office.

 

The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for reviewing and approving supply requisitions and for the preparation and effective management of Allwater’s payroll. The Senior Payroll Administrator is an expert in payroll procedure, providing guidance to the Payroll Administrator(s) in payroll matters.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Interpret, fully understand and adhere to site EBA’s
  • Ensure Allwater’s payroll complies with legislation and standards
  • Reconcile & correct errors that are identified before final processing
  • Perform required checks for payroll sign off each week
  • Investigate & respond to payroll queries in an informative and friendly manner
  • Checking and certifying calculations relating to commencements, terminations, increments, cost centre adjustments and urgent off-cycle payments
  • Assist Payroll Administrator(s) with more complex procedures by providing guidance and training
  • Process timesheets for Allwater employees to ensure correct and timely payment
  • Supervise Payroll Administrator(s) and build a cohesive team

 

To be considered for this role you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a similar role and in an environment with multiple complex agreements is essential
  • Experience in the use of SAP Payroll system and be familiar with using Microsoft Office Package will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service
  • Ability to question existing practices and to develop new approaches
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to coordinate workloads in a reliable manner
  • Ability to supervise and train staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff both orally and in writing

 

Key requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior payroll position
  • Verification of qualifications/licenses will be undertaken along with pre-employment medicals and background police checks for all shortlisted candidates.
  • The right to work in Australia
