The Role
Broadspectrum has recently been awarded a large contract at BHP Olympic Dam and is looking for a Construction Leading Hand seeking their next opportunity to grow and build a core delivery team at Roxby Downs.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the on-site day-to-day supervision of both surface and underground projects to facilitate incident free delivery, with timely and successful completion. This role is a great opportunity for a Team Leader to double up your Supervisory skills

 This role is site based located at BHP Olympic Dam, FIFO/DIDO considered.

Responsibilities includes but not limited to;

  • Lead and be a “role model” in a way that positively demonstrates the Broadspectrum behaviours and values.
  • In conjunction with instruction from Site Management, schedule the day-to-day operations
  • Coordinate and deliver project tenders, including the development of work method statements, schedule and estimate 
  • Ability to challenge and input to tender estimates
  • Monitor and track tender submissions and upcoming projects 
  • Organize and arrange materials, plant and equipment for the day to day and look-ahead work activities for the work team.
  • Manage site activities of sub subcontractors.
  • Prepare/write job procedures.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary/trade based qualification
  • Experience in Underground mining works advantageous 
  • Current drivers’ licence
  • Current Construction White Card Certification
  • Prior experience in Maintenance and Construction preferred
  • Knowledge of current and industry recognised safety work practices, procedures and regulations
  • Ability to multi task and ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the BHP Brownfields projects.
  • Good knowledge of HSE systems and procedures
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team. 
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong IT, verbal and written skills
