Of course, you already know what it takes to be a senior architect and manage a portfolio and a team, but there are other things that are important to us too – like prior experience working in a regulated environment, and great depth of the challenges and differences in how to deliver secure, trusted services in a cloud environment. Reporting to Head of Technology Strategy & Planning, the role of Enterprise Architect - Security is what we are offering to the successful candidate. You will be responsible for generating and curating appropriate portfolio views to clearly articulate our current and future state, and driving the roadmap as we mature our technology capability supporting our new Information Security Strategy. This role represents an outstanding opportunity to help to lead and contribute to relevant components of the technology strategy relating to security, roadmaps, patterns and related business cases. 

  • Understand, advocate for, explain, broker and shape technology options for the Fund in security disciplines, across short and long-term horizons;
  • Be responsible for leading and managing the security architecture team;
  • Be the domain expert for security architecture at AustralianSuper working closely with our IT teams (most closely with our CISO team), business, and service providers to ensure security considerations are maintained and appropriate for our risk appetite, and in compliance with regulatory needs;
  • Motivate and inspire our people by demonstrating commitment to the Fund’s values, decision pillars and leadership principles;
  • Contribute to the Strategic Planning process including on-going evaluation of Funds progress against stated IT strategic objectives;
  • Support relevant legislative and organisational requirements; keep up to date on all key changes to relevant regulations;
  • Ensure risk is managed in accordance with the Fund’s Risk Management Framework including risk identification and management, risk profiling, risk reporting and incident management.

You’ll need…

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in security architecture roles, as well as leadership roles, with a proven track-record of success in transformation. Must be able to demonstrate personal contribution and articulate transformational experience at length;
  • Comprehensive knowledge and breadth of the security function – from IDAM to networking, Digital to resilience – this role requires enterprise-wide security experience;
  • Recognised thought leadership and expertise in information security with a thorough understanding of the cloud ecosystem and emerging technology trends, security in a Digital context, and risk management in a regulated environment;
  • Extensive experience for leading, planning and deploying large scale enterprise projects within an optimum delivery model;
  • Experience moving to - and working in - a Cloud-first and DevOps environment;
  • Executive-level written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to articulate a vision and relevant stories to create buy-in and communicate technology strategy and concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff and external stakeholders.
