Of course, you already know what it takes to be a senior architect and manage a portfolio and a team, but there are other things that are important to us too – like prior experience working in a regulated environment, and a passion for genuine cloud transformation opportunities. Reporting to Head of Technology Strategy & Planning, the role of Enterprise Architect – Cloud & Infrastructure is what we are offering to the successful candidate. You will be responsible for generating and curating appropriate portfolio views to clearly articulate our current and future state, and driving the roadmap as we mature our technology capability that underpin so much of future business growth. This role represents an outstanding opportunity to help to lead and contribute to relevant components of the technology strategy relating to cloud, infrastructure transformation, end user computing and collaboration, and more!

  • Directly leading programs as the portfolio/program architect as required for major programs of work;
  • Be responsible for leading and managing the cloud and infrastructure architecture team;
  • Be the domain expert for cloud & infrastructure architecture at AustralianSuper working closely with our Technology teams, business and service providers to ensure expected outcomes in a complex and critical environment;
  • Motivate and inspire our people by demonstrating commitment to the Fund’s values, decision pillars and leadership principles;
  • Serve on working groups and other key technology and business committees as required, to represent Strategy & Planning, Technology Services and the whole Fund;
  • Demonstrate the appropriate balance of consistency and creativity in both solutions and delivery as well as supporting governance of the function;
  • Perform Architecture Governance of IT systems by providing expert advice, design and oversight across IT related process and systems;
  • Developing and maintaining architecture implementation patterns within your domain.

You’ll need…

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a combination of cloud-based and infrastructure technology, as well as leadership roles, with a proven track-record of success in transformation. Must be able to demonstrate personal contribution and articulate transformational experience at length;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application and systems engineering concepts;
  • Recognised thought leadership and expertise in cloud computing with a thorough understanding of the cloud ecosystem and emerging technology trends;
  • Strong experience in designing enterprise wide solutions, particularly in organisations with critical transactional B2B and B2C platforms, managing a technology portfolio, and associated roadmaps for large organisations;
  • Experience of leadership and delivery of architectural designs and solutions in complex technical environment, working with multiple vendors and technologies to achieve integrated solutions and successful business outcomes
  • Broad knowledge of business and IT processes including disaster recovery, business continuity and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
