The Internal Audit Liaison Officer will provide assistance to achieve the objectives of Council's Internal Audit program and implementation of a general range of internal controls to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance as well as prevent fraud and corruption. This role will support the Audit Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC) and provide a range of reports to the ARIC to facilitate their ability to oversight the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations. This role will also be required to assist check the accuracy and correct use of systems and procedures. Review, assess and recommend changes in systems and controls of Council business units. Ensure compliance of all Council Business Units with relevant legislation and regulatory guidelines and generally accepted auditing standards.

Salary: Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed in Grade 9 of Cumberland salary structure with a salary range of $1,278.42 to $1,470.18 per week plus superannuation. Commencement salary will depend upon qualifications, experience and competencies.
Conditions of Employment: Permanent full time position, with access to 9 day fortnight.. This position will be initially located at Merrylands, however there is the possibility that you may be working across Merrylands and/or Auburn worksites.
