About the role We are currently inviting applications for an Asset Engineer to join our team on an upcoming roads contract. The Asset Engineer will be integral to our approach to take ownership and pride in the network. This role will support the Asset Manager in the management and maintenance of the contract asset management system. As the successful candidate in this role, some of your core responsibilities will include; Manage the development and maintenance of the asset management system including the asset register, asset inspection system and lifecycle model. Ensure the safety of the road user through the development of network inspection programs for roads and structures covering asset defect and condition rating. Assist in the compilation of records, including inventory information ensuring its accuracy and completeness prior to its incorporation into the asset management system Assist in the management of responses to network activities and emergencies Assist in developing and maintaining network programs of work Develop and manage processes, procedures and SOPs for team activities ensuring that they reflect current best practice Proactively monitor the performance of completed works and known 'hot spots' Drive a culture of delivering customer and shareholder value Your experience should include but not limited to; General Construction Induction Card (White Card) Degree (or equivalent experience) in relevant field such as Civil Engineering or Transport Engineering Understanding and competency in Asset Management Systems and GIS Skills and experience in network inspection processes Prior road maintenance or construction experience Knowledge of clients design procedures, codes and specifications together with effective Quality Assurance.
