Here’s where you come in… To support the growth of AustralianSuper we are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel, Superannuation who will be responsible for the provision of commercial legal advice to all business units within the Fund. In this role, you will provide legal advice on a range of general commercial matters including superannuation, financial services, group life insurance, member insurance and benefit claims, and privacy. You will advise on new superannuation products, initiatives and marketing campaigns, as well as group life insurance policies and supporting product design. You will advise on member insurance and benefit claims, covering total and permanent disability, income protection and death benefits. You will work on a range of privacy matters, including marketing campaigns and the management and resolution of complaints. Reporting to the Head of Group Legal, this role represents an outstanding opportunity to join a close team that delivers exceptional commercial legal support, ensuring the Fund’s legal risk is effectively managed. You’ll need… …a tertiary qualification in Law in addition to a current Victorian Legal Practicing Certificate, or be eligible to be admitted to practice law in Victoria. Your passion and experience is superannuation, financial services, group life insurance, privacy and general corporate law. Highly organised and adept at prioritising workloads, you have superior drafting, negotiating and written communication skills. An excellent researcher, you provide sound, commercially focused legal support and advice to a range of stakeholders. This outstanding position is best suited to a Senior Associate moving from a top or mid tier legal firm, or an equivalent level in-house counsel looking to further their career in the corporate world.
