About the Opportunity
Council is currently recruiting for a Team Leader - Irrigation in its Park Operations area.
In this role you will lead a small team in undertaking maintenance and repairs of Council’s irrigation infrastructure to ensure Sportsgrounds and Garden areas can be maintained to the highest standard to reflect community expectations. As service demands warrant, you may also work across other service areas including passive parks and sportsgrounds. You will assist in ensuring customer and community satisfaction with Councils parks operations by presenting and servicing our facilities in accordance with service specifications. You will also ensure individual Work Health and Safety responsibilities under Council policy and legislation are met at all times, and at all levels within the team to ensure a safe place of work.
To be considered for this position you will have:
Relevant trade qualifications e.g. Greenkeeping, Horticulture, Landscape Construction, Building Trades, Irrigation or Floodlighting
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of park maintenance and parks infrastructure related issues, current trends, industry best-practice and new developments relating to maintenance and management of parks
Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate staff and materials, to undertake maintenance activities relevant to the position including but not limited to irrigation repair and asset inspections as relevant to the role
Proven ability to effectively supervise and co-ordinate team members and external contractors in the delivery of maintenance and project works
Demonstrated ability to deal in a positive and courteous manner with the public, and council staff whilst providing sound leadership to others in the workplace
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team and with contractors - ability to complete necessary paperwork and communicate effectively with team members
Sound knowledge and practical application of WH&S principles and the Work Health and Safety legislation

Salary: Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed in Grade 7 of Cumberland / Holroyd salary structure with a salary range of $1,074.11 to $1,235.23 per week plus superannuation. Commencement salary will depend upon qualifications, experience and competencies.
Conditions of Employment: This role is a permanent full time position, standard working hours are Monday to Friday 6.30am - 3.00pm. This position will work a 70 hour, 9 day fortnight.

Allwater are seeking an experienced Electrician to join the Wastewater & Reuse Electrical Team maintaining the Glenelg Wastewater Treatment Plant and Network Wastewater Pump stations. You will be based at the Glenelg Wastewater Treatment Plant, however as required the role will also necessitate work at remote facilities managed by the Glenelg Team. This is a permanent full time position.
To be successful for this role, you will demonstrate proven industrial electrical and instrumentation experience and hold a current ‘A’ Class Electrical Worker’s Licence. You will have a commitment to fostering a successful interface with operations to ensure all tasks are carried out efficiently and safely without compromising operational integrity. Previous exposure in a field based maintenance role, along with knowledge of water & wastewater plant systems, will be highly regarded.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Undertaking planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of wastewater industry assets
Maintaining critical electrical and control assets including switchboards, instruments and PLC based control systems
Diagnosing and resolving electrical, instrumentation and control issues
Liaise with operational staff as required to ensure plant and pump station operational performance is maintained and critical process issues are diagnosed and resolved
To be considered for this role you will demonstrate:
Excellent interpersonal skills which will enable you to foster positive working relationships with a number of stakeholders
Awareness of current WHS policies and procedures
A methodical approach and high attention to detail
Good general understanding of IT systems and computer literacy
A pro-active approach to work tasks and ability to work effectively & efficiently as part of a small team
Key requirements:
Current ‘A’ Class Electrical Worker’s Licence
Cert III Instrumentation & Control or Cert IV Electrical Instrumentation would be highly regarded
Be available to work an on-call roster for nominated areas
You may be required to work flexible hours to meet demands where necessary
Work and travel to multiple sites and locations (including remote wastewater pumping station sites) where necessary
Current unrestricted Australian driver’s license is required
